Kids Allowed gets a bright finish with UK Boxings column casings

Fourteen bright orange GRP column casings from UK Boxings are being used to conceal exterior structural steelwork add a splash of colour to a ‘Kids Allowed’ childcare centre, which was recently opened in Trafford City, Manchester.

Consistently ranked as ‘outstanding’ by Ofsted, Kids Allowed provides family centred expert childcare, education and learning through play for nursery age children up to 10 years old at its eight specialist centres, located in Manchester and across Cheshire.

The Trafford City Centre was designed for Kids Allowed with a focus on learning through play and every room has access to age appropriate outdoor play areas, which are adjacent to the UK Boxings column casings located around the building’s perimeter.

Manufactured from moulded GRP, each circular column casing is 350mm diameter, stands 2.5 metres high and is finished in RAL 2004 Pure Orange. As the decorative column casings are being used on the outside of the building, GRP was chosen for it’s weather resistant properties, as well as its excellent durability and resistance to scuffing and damage.

UK Boxings’ GRP column casings can be used for interior projects too, and have proven to be ideal in high traffic projects, such as retail and public areas, where there is a risk of minor damage and scuffing, as the material is naturally resilient.
